Caucasian Rugs and Carpets

Caucasian rugs are primarily produced in regions of Caucasus, such as Shirvan and Kazak. The design and colors of Caucasian rugs are unique in that they often boast bold geometric designs, predominantly in primary colors. Dragon motif, boteh, arabesque, palmette, animal and bird designs are all common elements found in Caucasian rugs. Most rugs and carpets of Caucasus are finely hand-knotted and are made from wool.
